Guided Immediate Implant, Partial Extraction Therapy and Crestal Sinus Lift, Guided Bone Regeneration & Guide Design – Module S2 (2026)

This is a series of THREE 3-day courses; TWO of which are on Restorative Implantology and TWO which is on Guided Surgical Implantology which includes design of surgical guides using CoDiagnostiX software. This course contains both didactic and practical components, and the content is strongly evidence-based, aiding the clinical operator to have confidence that their procedures have been validated by research. The courses cover:

• Module R1 – Single Unit Implant Restorations
• Module R2 – Multi Unit Implant Restorations
• Module S1 – Single and Multi-Unit Surgical Guide Design & Guided Implant Surgery
• Module S2 – Guided Immediate Implant, Partial Extraction Therapy and Crestal Sinus Lift, Guided Bone Regeneration & Guide Design

Module S2 covers immediate implant, partial extraction therapy and crestal sinus lift surgical guide design and guided surgery; and bone grafting techniques. This includes:

• Effect of retaining periodontal ligament on alveolar ridge dimensions;
• Requirements, configurations and complications of partial extraction therapy (PET);
• Guide design to facilitate guided sectioning and apex removal for PET, followed by guide design for immediate implant placement;
• Different types of barrier membranes and graft materials and forms used for bone grafting;
• Classification of extraction sockets to influence socket grafting procedures & immediate implant placement;
• Periosteal releasing incision techniques and anatomy for flap advancement;
• Classification of alveolar ridge defects to influence ridge augmentation procedures;
• Suitability, procedures and complications for ridge augmentation procedures;
• Indications and complications for immediate, early and delayed implant placement;
• Digital model modification and guide design for correct 3D positioning for immediate implants;
• Suitability, procedures and complications for transcrestal sinus elevation;
• Guide design for guided transcrestal sinus elevation, followed by guide design for implant placement;
• Diagnosis of, decision and methods to treat peri-implantitis, including decontaminative, resective and reconstructive approaches.

Hands on exercises (not all are listed):

• Using implant software to design partial extraction therapy, crestal sinus lift and immediate implant placement guides;
• Guided partial extraction therapy and guided immediate implant placement;
• Socket grafting and suturing techniques;
• Periosteal releasing incisions on pig jaws;
• Guided implant placement in site with ridge dehiscence and simultaneous ridge augmentation;
• Periosteal suspension sutures for membrane and graft stabilisation;
• Placement of tenting screws and tacks to tent and fixate membrane for moderate horizontal ridge defects;
• Rigid space maintenance techniques for minor vertical ridge defects;
• Guided crestal sinus floor elevation and simultaneous guided implant placement;
• Using titanium brushes and burs for decontamination and implantoplasty of peri-implantitis.
