This is a series of 3-day modular courses on Restorative Implantology and Guided Surgical Implantology which includes design of surgical guides using CoDiagnostiX software. These course contain both didactic and practical components, and the content is strongly evidence-based, aiding the clinical operator to have confidence that their procedures have been validated by research. The courses cover:
  • Module R1 – Single Unit Implant Restorations (two dates of this module are available)
  • Module R2 – Multi Unit Implant Restorations
  • Module R3 – Full Arch Implant Restorations
  • Module S1 – Single and Multi-Unit Surgical Guide Design & Guided Implant Surgery.
  • Module S3 – Full Arch Surgical Guide Design & Guided Implant Surgery.
Module S3 covers single and multi unit surgical guide design and guided implant surgery. This includes:
  • Dual scan technique for CBCT acquisition and guide fabrication;
  • Use of radiographic stents on existing implants to use as guide supports;
  • Advanced skills using CoDiagnostiX implant planning software;
  • Critical concepts regarding tissue supported guides;
  • Using the proposed restoration to drive surgical procedures, including alveolectomies;
  • Correct use and positioning of fixation pins for guide stabilisation, especially in relation to cut profile of stackable guides;
  • Sequential guides for full clearance and full arch restorations;
  • Stackable guides for full clearance and full arch restorations;
  • Methods to position guide base layer in partially dentate and completely edentulous cases.
  • Overcoming shortcomings of each guided system, particularly when crestal bone is close to the bottom of the guide sleeve, which can interfere with correct implant placement;
  • How to utilise each guided system for increased placement depth relative to sleeve offset if required, to avoid modification of models and corresponding soft tissue/bone removal to get the guide to fit;
  • Clinical indications for use of each type of guide, depending on available tooth support and ability to align CBCTs.
  Hands-on exercises:
  1. Designing tissue supported guides with prosthetic teeth built-in for correct guide positioning and implant placement for a full arch edentulous case, with flange windows to facilitate raising a flap;
  2. Using a tissue supported guide to place implants in a full arch edentulous case, while raising a flap in specific implant sites;
  3. Designing sequential guides for implant placement for a partially dentate case requiring full clearance;
  4. Using the first sequential guide to place two implants, then removing it to perform extractions and fitting another sequential guide supported by the first two implants to place remaining implants;
  5. Placement of implant deeper than sleeve offset by utilising non-guided drilling through a guide sleeve, in order to obviate the need for preparatory raising of a flap and bone removal to facilitate seating of a guide;
  6. Designing stackable guides for implant placement for a partially dentate case requiring full clearance;
  7. Correct positioning of base guide using a positioning stack, and then interchanging with an implant sleeve stack to place implants;
  8. Using bone profilers after correct depth of placement to facilitate correct alveolectomy level with surgical round burs;
  9. Suturing techniques for full arch cases.
CoDiagnostiX software is provided for practical exercises during the course, BUT ATTENDEES NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN PC (OR MAC WITH WINDOWS VM INSTALLED).
  • Each module $3600 incl. GST
  • Includes lunch and refreshments
  • 10% early bird discount for each module if paid at least 30 days in advance of each module’s course date.
  • This course is compliant with current DBA guidelines on CPD.
