Dr Reina Yang graduated from University of Melbourne with Honours and was awarded the prestigious Melbourne University National Scholarship. During her studies she was the Vice President of the Melbourne Dental Students Society. Reina has spent time working in the private and public sectors all throughout Australia, including serving communities in Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania. She returned home to Melbourne in 2016 and convinced her Sydney-sider husband to settle here and they have not looked back since.
Reina is extremely passionate about patient-centred care, with particular emphasis on patients with high anxiety and dental phobias. Her main priority is to listen to the individual needs of her patients to help overcome their specific dental fears and she firmly believes in making the experience as relaxed and comfortable as possible. For those patients with significant phobias, Reina is also highly experienced in treating patients under sedation including sleep dentistry procedures under general anesthesia, both for adults and children.
Reina takes pride in creating beautiful smiles for her patients and has a keen interest in Cosmetic Dentistry and Orthodontics. Reina constantly updates herself on the latest developments in dentistry. She is a member of Spear Education and has completed the Excellence in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics in Sydney, which has given her the framework to deliver high quality cosmetic-focused dentistry for her patients.
Working with children is another one of Reina’s passions. With her warm and bubbly nature, she loves making a child’s dental visit memorable and fun. There is nothing more rewarding to her than to see children develop good oral hygiene habits early on in life. Prevention is key to having a healthy mouth and by having good dental experiences as a child this can give them a huge head start.
Outside of dentistry, Reina loves travelling different parts of the world and gaining new perspectives and experiences. She enjoys keeping active with cycling and yoga. She can also be a bit of a homebody as she loves reading and cooking for her family and friends.
